Permanent changes were made to the law in the summer of 2020 that affect early and absentee voting. As a result of these changes:

  1. The deadline to apply for a vote by mail ballot (whether absentee or early, if applicable) is 5pm on the 5th business day before the election.
    1. Generally, if you have a Tuesday election, the deadline will be the Wednesday before.
    2. You must submit the application by the 5pm deadline.
    3. The deadline for in person absentee voters remains 12pm the day before the election generally, unless the day before is a holiday.
  2. A voter admitted to a health care facility after 12pm on the SEVENTH day before the election can request a hand-delivered AV ballot.
  3. Drop boxes, if provided, can be used to return all mail-in ballots. (Front of Town Hall box on right)

The deadline to apply for an absentee or early ballot by mail is 5:00 PM on the 5th business day prior to the election ( April 24th, 2023).
