In his latest series of tweets, U.S. Congressman Stephen F. Lynch, representing Massachusetts’ 8th District, has expressed his concerns over various issues, ranging from national security breaches to the role of public media. Lynch, who succeeded Joe Moakley in Congress in 2001, has a long history of public service, having served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate. His educational background includes a BS from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a JD from Boston College.

On March 26, 2025, Congressman Stephen F. Lynch criticized the House Republican leadership, claiming they prioritize trivial issues over more pressing matters involving national security. He remarked, “The House Republican leadership would rather post up against @BigBird than investigate the catastrophic national security breach involving Defense Secretary Hegseth and the disclosure of classified information on a group chat about imminent U.S. airstrikes in Yemen.”

Later on the same day, Lynch announced that “Today, @OversightDems sent a letter to Trump Administration officials demanding an immediate briefing on how classified information regarding U.S. military operations in Yemen ended up on an unsecured group chat.”

In another tweet, Stephen F. Lynch voiced his support for public media, criticizing efforts to diminish its role, noting that “Public media is a nonpartisan government service that provides exceptional educational programming that benefits every American, especially our children and seniors. It is shameful that President Trump and Elon Musk continue to threaten to eliminate federal funding and spread misinformation.” This tweet highlights Lynch’s belief in the value of public media as a vital educational resource for the American public.
