In-state tuition and fees rose 3.4 percent for 2018-19 at Bridgewater State University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Massachusetts residents paid $10,367 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $355 more than the $10,012 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 59.2 percent more than residents this year, or $16,507. Their price tag grew 2.2 percent from $16,152 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school’s undergraduate population are Massachusetts residents. And about 6 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,040 students received grants or scholarships totaling $6.4 million and 1,314 students took out student loans totaling more than $8.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (10,990), 5,260 students used grants or scholarships totaling $29 million, and 7,331 students took out $43.6 million in federal student loans.
