The Town of Halifax announced on May 15 that beach parking permits will be required at East and West Monponsett Pond beach parking lots and Richmond Park from May 23 through September 7, 2026.
The requirement applies to the busy summer season, including Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The policy aims to manage access and ensure compliance with local regulations during periods of high demand.
According to the announcement, residents can obtain a 2026 beach parking sticker at no cost by applying online through the town’s permitting system. Residents who already have a 2026 recycling sticker may use it as their beach parking sticker for this year. Those enrolled in the curbside collection program but without a recycling sticker can pick one up at the Recycling Center during regular hours. Non-residents may purchase one of a limited number of stickers for $120 per vehicle.
Vehicles parked without a valid permit or recycling sticker at designated lots will receive a $50 citation from the Halifax Police Department. The application process requires applicants to submit copies of their driver’s license or ID card and vehicle registration online for processing by the Board of Selectmen’s office.
For further questions, residents are encouraged to contact Michael J. Schleiff at the Parks Commission or reach out to Pamela McSherry or Cesar Calouro in the Board of Selectmen’s office.
