The Kingston Health Department announced on March 26 that it is offering tick removal kits to residents, with a limit of one kit per family due to limited supplies.

The availability of these kits addresses concerns about tick-borne illnesses, which can be a risk during certain times of the year. By providing the community with tools for safe tick removal, the department aims to help families respond quickly if they encounter ticks.

Residents interested in obtaining a kit are encouraged to visit the Health Department during Town House hours. The hours may vary by department: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and closed on Fridays. For more information or questions about availability, residents can contact the department at 781-585-0500.

As supplies are very limited, the Health Department asks that families take only one kit each so more households have access to this resource.

Providing these kits is part of ongoing efforts by local health officials to support public health and safety in Kingston.
