Stephen F. Lynch, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 8th district since 2001, has recently shared his views on various political matters through social media posts.
On June 5, 2025, Lynch addressed a call from the Oversight Democrats to hear from Elon Musk. He criticized Republicans for their perceived protection of President Trump and his billionaire associates. Lynch challenged Rep. Clay Higgins to discuss these issues publicly: “@OversightDems want to hear from @elonmusk. Republicans want to protect President Trump and his billionaire friends.”
The following day, June 6, 2025, Lynch expressed gratitude upon receiving the Equality Ally Award from Q Street, an organization advocating for LGBTQ+ rights: “Honored to receive the Equality Ally Award today from my friends at Q Street.”
Later that day, he commented on former President Donald Trump’s pardoning of individuals convicted in connection with the January 6th Capitol riot. Lynch criticized this action as disrespectful to law enforcement officers who defended democracy during the event: “In pardoning the convicted rioters that attacked the Capitol on January 6th, @realDonaldTrump dishonored the bravery and sacrifice of the law enforcement officers.”
Stephen F. Lynch was born in Boston in 1955 and has been active in politics since serving in both chambers of Massachusetts’ legislature before joining Congress.
