Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, who has represented Massachusetts’ 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2001, addressed several issues in recent social media posts, including international justice, local sports achievements, and federal labor policy.

On August 7, 2025, Lynch commented on the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 attacks: “The pursuit of justice against the attackers of October 7, 2023, can never justify the slaughter of innocent women, children, and families. I will continue working with my fellow Democrats to ensure that competent organizations are safely delivering the necessary food and”.

In a post dated August 8, 2025, Lynch congratulated a local youth baseball team: “Congratulations to the @braintreeALL players and coaches who won a nail-biter tonight against a tough New Hampshire team by a score of 3-2 in extra innings! They are now on their way to represent Massachusetts at the Little League World Series in Williamsport! “.

Later that day, he criticized an action by the Trump Administration regarding federal employees: “The Trump Administration has announced that the VA is terminating its collective bargaining agreements with most employees – including the dedicated doctors, nurses, and mental health specialists who care for our veterans. This reckless action to strip frontline workers of their”.

Lynch’s career in public service began in state government before his election to Congress; he previously served in both chambers of the Massachusetts legislature between 1995 and 2001. Born in Boston in 1955 and still residing there today at age 68, Lynch holds degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology (BS) and Boston College (JD).
