U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch, who represents Massachusetts’ 8th district in Congress, recently used his social media platform to address two high-profile issues: the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s network and changes to veterans’ benefits.
On February 19, 2026, Lynch reported his participation in a congressional deposition regarding billionaire Les Wexner’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. In a post that day, he stated, “Today, I joined my fellow @OversightDems in Ohio for a deposition to question billionaire Les Wexner about his strong ties to Jeffrey Epstein. It was Wexner who gave Epstein the financial capacity to commit many abuses while he was in a position to stop many of these crimes.”
Later on February 19, Lynch reaffirmed his commitment to justice for survivors connected to the Epstein case. He wrote, “I will continue fighting to ensure accountability and justice for the survivors of Epstein, Maxwell, and their accomplices’ horrific crimes.”
On February 22, Lynch addressed concerns over recent policy shifts affecting military veterans. He criticized actions by the previous presidential administration with another post: “The Trump Administration’s recent changes to VA benefits for veterans are unacceptable. If you agree, make your voice heard and share your thoughts with the VA here:” The message included a call for public engagement on veterans’ affairs.
Lynch has served as U.S. Representative since 2001 after succeeding Joe Moakley. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both the Massachusetts House of Representatives (1995-1996) and the Massachusetts Senate (1996-2001). Born in Boston in 1955 and currently residing there at age 68, Lynch is an alumnus of Wentworth Institute of Technology (BS) and Boston College Law School (JD).
