Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a U.S. Congressman representing Massachusetts’ 8th district since 2001, shared updates on community events and national issues in a series of posts on February 23, 2026.
On the evening of February 23, Lynch expressed appreciation for a local celebration by stating, “Great turnout at the Quincy Asian Resources Lunar New Year celebration – sincere thanks to Philip Chong, Lisa Hsu, Â @CityofQuincy Mayor Koch, and @SenJohnFKeenan for a wonderful family-friendly event. Best wishes for a safe and prosperous Year of the Horse!”
Later that night, Lynch commented on a Supreme Court decision regarding trade policy: “President Trump violated federal law when he unilaterally imposed tariffs worldwide. It is reassuring that six Supreme Court justices said NO and held this Administration accountable to the rule of law.”
In another post from the same date, Lynch highlighted his advocacy efforts at the State House: “ICYMI: At the State House, I testified on behalf of the residents of Norwood and the surrounding communities to urge state legislators to reopen Norwood Hospital as a nonprofit healthcare facility.”
Lynch has served in Congress since succeeding Joe Moakley in 2001 and previously held positions in both chambers of the Massachusetts legislature. Born in Boston in 1955, he continues to reside there. He holds degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology (BS) and Boston College (JD).
