Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 8th district since 2001, has recently shared updates on his activities via social media. Born in Boston in 1955, Lynch has a background in law and technology education and continues to be actively involved in various community and professional engagements.
On May 14, 2025, Rep. Lynch expressed his pride in attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony for UMass Boston’s new Digital Homecare Simulation Lab. He noted that it is “the first of its kind in Massachusetts” and emphasized the lab’s role in providing hands-on training for future nurses “in the delivery of emergency and urgent care”.
The following day, May 15, he met with leadership from @MassCOPUnion and @BostonPatrolmen during Police Week in Washington D.C. He highlighted their discussions on essential topics such as funding for safety equipment and resources necessary for protecting public servants “to protect these courageous public servants”.
Later that day, Rep. Lynch attended the National Postal Mail Handlers Union legislative conference also held in Washington. As someone with personal ties to postal work, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting postal workers against privatization efforts “to protect postal jobs”.
Stephen F. Lynch has served as a U.S. Congressman since replacing Joe Moakley in 2001 and previously held positions within the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate.
