Effective March 3, visitors to campuses not required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic three years ago, the College has sought to prioritize safety through policies like remote days, masking, and vaccination requirements.
As the pandemic has evolved, so have these policies. Yesterday, it was announced that the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for students, faculty, and staff will be lifted after the conclusion of final exams this semester. More details are available online.
In pursuance of that policy change, effective March 3, visitors to any of the College’s three campuses will no longer need to present a proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Visitors to campus include admissions and enrollment guests, prospective students, and guests to the testing and assessment center. Updating the College’s visitor policy before the employee and student vaccine requirement is lifted will ensure that new students are ready for the start of the summer term and fall semester.
Guests to campus also include theatre patrons, fans attending Massasoit Warriors Athletics events, vendors, and community partners and organizations holding events in College-owned spaces. By lifting the vaccine requirement for guests, our campuses are now fully open to the public, and we can reaffirm our place as a community hub.
In order to help guard against the spread of COVID-19, we ask that visitors who have exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 do not come to campus for a minimum of five days since the onset of symptoms, provided they have not experienced any symptoms within 24 hours. Wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing are optional, and the College asks that everyone please respect personal decisions to do so.
I am grateful that each of us played an important role in keeping our community safe and healthy over the course of the pandemic. It is now time to turn our attention to Massasoit’s bright future. I look forward to working with all of you to continue to move our College forward.
