Bridgewater State University senior Corey Stalters has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stalters grabbed top honors in the javelin with a heave of 197 feet, eight inches (60.24m) this past weekend at the cold and rainy BSU Bears Invitational. The Norton, Massachusetts product also earned a third-place showing in the shot put (43'05."/13.12m) and finished sixth in the discus (125'11"/38.37m).

Stalters, who qualified for the Division III New England Championships and NEICAAA Championships in the javelin, currently ranks sixth in all of Division III in the event and first in the East Region. He also ranks fourth in the East Region in the shot put and eighth in the discus.

An All-American performer in the javelin at 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Stalters earned MASCAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors five times last season.

Stalters is the only student-athlete in BSU track & field history to throw the javelin 200-plus feet. He eclipsed the 200-foot mark in each of his last six meets of the 2022 season, including the NCAA Championships, and set the school record in the event on four separate occasions. Stalters top throw of 218 feet, 11 inches (66.74m) occurred at the 2022 NEICAAA Championships.

The BSU outdoor track & field teams travel to Darmouth, Massachusetts on Saturday for the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.
