Rep. Stephen F. Lynch voices concerns over Trump's policies in recent tweets

Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts' 8th district, recently expressed his views on various actions by the Trump administration through a series of tweets.

On February 18, 2025, Rep. Lynch stated "It was an honor to welcome Chancellors Marcelo Suárez-Orozco and Javier Reyes of the University of Massachusetts, to the Capitol. I will continue to advocate and stand in strong solidarity with these institutions in opposing the proposed cuts to NIH funding by the Trump…" This tweet highlights his opposition to proposed budget cuts affecting educational institutions.

Later that day, he tweeted about recent actions by President Trump and others, saying "This past month, we've seen extraordinary actions taken by President Trump, his Administration, and DOGE Head Elon Musk. From policies that threaten the federal workforce across the country, to freezing federal aid, the Trump Administration's actions are unconstitutional, put…" The tweet criticizes policies impacting federal employees and aid distribution.

In another tweet on February 18, 2025, Rep. Lynch expressed disappointment over decisions affecting cultural heritage sites: "Very disappointed that Donald Trump and Elon Musk have forced the JFK Presidential Library to be closed to the public. Congress recently approved sufficient funding to keep the JFK Library open and this overreach is one more unlawful action by the Trump administration." He emphasizes concerns about executive overreach impacting public access to historical resources.
