East Bridgewater Accepted into Massachusetts School Building Authority Core Program

The Town of East Bridgewater is pleased to share that the East Bridgewater Public Schools has been invited to join the Massachusetts School Building Authority’s (MSBA) Core grant program for the Central Elementary School.

The acceptance begins a partnership between the town, schools and MSBA to assist in the program development and funding of new school construction or additions/renovations to an existing school. Over the next two years, the town will support the school district and MSBA in conducting a feasibility study. During this time a project manager and design firm will determine the most cost-effective and educationally appropriate solution.

The town and schools are committed to an open and transparent process and will provide multiple opportunities for public feedback throughout the process. Regular updates will be shared with the community as the project progresses.

“This is a great opportunity for the East Bridgewater Public Schools and the future students of the Central Elementary School,” Town Administrator Seelig said. “We look forward to supporting the district’s next steps and involving the community as we proceed.”

The MSBA is a state agency that works with communities to support educationally-appropriate, flexible, sustainable and cost-effective public school facilities. Since its 2004 inception, the MSBA has made over 1,750 site visits to more than 250 school districts as part of its due diligence process and has made over $16.2 billion in reimbursements for school construction projects.

The East Bridgewater Public Schools was one of only 10 school districts invited to participate in the MSBA’s Core Program this year.
