The ratio of students to teachers in Plympton School District rose by 15.7% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 241 students being taught by 19.3 teachers in Plympton School District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in Kingston. That's an average of 12.5 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
