Student-to-teacher ratio in West Bridgewater Public Schools District rose in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in West Bridgewater Public Schools District rose by 6.4% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,379 students being taught by 91.8 teachers in West Bridgewater Public Schools District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in West Bridgewater. That's an average of 15 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, West Bridgewater Public Schools District had 1,374 students and 97.6 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
