Rising Tide Charter Public District’s student-to-teacher ratio rose by 4.5% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Rising Tide Charter Public District rose by 4.5% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 655 students being taught by 56.7 teachers in Rising Tide Charter Public District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in Plymouth. That's an average of 11.6 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Rising Tide Charter Public District had 666 students and 60.2 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
