Student-to-teacher ratio in Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District rose in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District rose by 0.6% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 5,392 students being taught by 336.5 teachers in Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in Bridgewater. That's an average of 16 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District had 5,272 students and 331.8 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.
