Please join us far an in-person training for all Town Board and Committee members.

The following topics will be presented by attorney Jaime Kenny of Clifford and Kenny Law Offices.

• Open Meeting Law Review
• Review of expectations of volunteer committee and board members
• Conducting a meeting with civility and respect
• De-escalation techniques for dealing with contentious meetings
• Public Records Law Review
• Discrimination and Harassment Overview

The training is designed to provide an overview of the requirements of the Open Meeting Law. Jaime will spell out the town’s expectations of the board and committee members according to the Selectmen’s Committee Member Handbook. We will have a discussion on the need to conduct a meeting in a civil and professional manner as well as the need act in a respectful manner. Jaime will also provide some tips and methods to de-escalate a contentious interaction between board members and the public.
