Marshfield Public Schools District’s student-to-teacher ratio rose by 0.9% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Marshfield Public Schools District rose by 0.9% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 3,822 students being taught by 335.4 teachers in Marshfield Public Schools District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in Marshfield. That's an average of 11.4 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Marshfield Public Schools District had 3,760 students and 333.4 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

However, the state is facing a teacher shortage, just like the rest of the U.S. NewsNation reported that the state was offering emergency teaching licenses to educators who only had bachelor’s degrees, in an effort to get more teachers into schools.
