The ratio of students to teachers in New Heights Charter School of Brockton District fell by 4.8% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 744 students being taught by 54 teachers in New Heights Charter School of Brockton District, which covers schools within Plymouth County and has a main office in Brockton. That's an average of 13.8 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, New Heights Charter School of Brockton District had 742 students and 51.2 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
