Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts' 8th District since 2001, shared several updates through his social media platform regarding recent events and advisories for federal employees. Rep. Lynch has been serving in Congress after succeeding Joe Moakley and has a history of public service in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate.

On February 2, 2025, Rep. Lynch reflected on attending a farewell event for Capt. Dick Stratton, USN, who is remembered as a significant figure from Quincy and a distinguished American veteran from the Vietnam War era. He stated, "Attended a heartfelt and dignified farewell yesterday to Capt. Dick Stratton, USN, a favorite son of Quincy and a true American hero."

Two days later, on February 4, 2025, he advised federal employees regarding letters received from the Trump Administration concerning an "early buyout." In his tweet he urged affected individuals to seek guidance from their union or his office: "My advice to all federal employees who received a letter from the Trump Administration through OPM regarding an 'early buyout' - I urge everyone in my district to contact your union or my office for guidance."

Later that same day, Rep. Lynch expressed gratitude towards Stoughton’s Special Town Meeting attendees and Deputy Town Moderator Carmel Drewes for facilitating communication about misleading information sent to federal employees: "Great turnout last night at Stoughton’s Special Town Meeting... Many thanks to Deputy Town Moderator Carmel Drewes for allowing me to alert federal employees at the VA, Treasury, FAA, and across the federal government about the recent erroneous communications from the Trump..."
